It is known that blockchain has become one of today’s groundbreaking technology. Industries like finance, health and production or supply chain have already implemented and leveraged on the benefit the technology can provide.
However, it is notable that Malaysia, despite various initiative and positive acceptance of the technology, is still falling behind on the emergence of blockchain development. A private investment firm based in Singapore that focuses solely on blockchain-enabled projects, MW Partners Group Holdings said the country is lacking talents on the development of blockchain technology.
Mark Pui, an advisor at MW said that our lack in deep cryptography skills impacts our ability to lead in the development of the blockchain technology.
I think the progress of blockchain technology in Malaysia is slow. When you measure blockchain technology adoption and its progress, I think we need to evaluate it on how it is being adopted by people in everyday life.
Mark Pui, Advisor of MW Partners Group Holding
Thus, this desperate need of talents calls for the government of Malaysia to look into the matter and start incorporating the importance of blockchain technology in the minds of Malaysian citizens to produce highly-skilled individuals for the development of blockchain technology.
Mass awareness is now crucial in putting Malaysia among the first nations to develop a highly valued technology of blockchain.
