Tether Sponsors Omni Core 0.7.0 Release in Digital Transformation Drive

Tether, the blockchain-enabled platform that powers the largest stablecoin by market capitalization, has sponsored the open-source fully-decentralized asset platform on the bitcoin blockchain, Omni Layer to release Omni Core 0.7.0.

Omni Core 0.7.0 which has been finalized by Omni Core maintainer dexX7 and Feathercoin’s creator, Peter Bushnell was innovated to develop the existing bitcoin network. The technology encompasses a variety of features aimed at improving network performance, enabling the activation of an on-chain decentralized exchange.

Meanwhile, the release includes the integration of all Bitcoin Core 0.18.0 improvements into Omni Core. CTO at Tether, Paolo Ardoino said that Omni Core gives high value and demonstrates good levels of security, as bitcoin is the first blockchain that Tether used.

It is important to note that Tether is underpinned by diversity in different blockchains, of which Omni Core has proven to be an important component.

Omni Core 0.7.0 is a major release which converts the Omni Core base code from Bitcoin Core 0.13.2 to Bitcoin Core 0.18.1.  When the consensus is enabled, the Omni Core 0.7.0 version is no longer compatible with the previous version and therefore improvements to the previous version are important.

In addition, Omni Core 0.7.0 will enhance exchange circulation and support asset or token investment for bitcoin.  The latest version of Omni Core also solves locking and Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs) issues for fund transactions and omni_listtransaction.

The collaboration between Tether and Omni has previously shown that transactions can be executed faster, fees can be reduced and enhance collaboration. With the update of Omni Core 0.7.0, it is seen as beneficial to both companies.
