Bithumb, a South Korean cryptocurrency exchange platform has recently established its research and development (R&D) centre. On an announcement made on Monday, the launching of the R&D centre made Bithumb the first in South Korea.
The new centre that is going to have about 30 members will start its operations this month with the team planning to focus on blockchain, architecture and development. The firm believes that the new centre will help Bithumb in becoming a comprehensive, blockchain-based financial platform.
Additionally, Bithumb is planning to do various research and study on high-performance transaction matching systems that can respond to large simultaneous orders, developing a system for user address generation that allows for deposits and withdrawals and high-performance data exchange between blockchains and databases.
Notably, blockchain research spending is expected to rise this year as increased efforts in blockchain are initiated around the globe, thanks to Xi Jinping’s call on the nation of China back in late 2019.
