Kuala Lumpur, 13 Jan: The DAO of WU, Building Sustainable Creative Communities is all about blockchain and cryptocurrency. It’s about opening opportunities and providing sustainability towards the creative community. The DAO workshop was organized by TYGS & DAOFest, an event series to promote Hip Hop culture in Malaysia. The event was held at Common Ground, TTDI.
The speaker, Jason Vandal, a hip-hop artist and entrepreneur, believes that technology is beyond physical interaction. It should be used to enhance the community and become a tool of empowerment.
The workshop also attracted participants outside the creative community, such as blockchain enthusiasts, community representatives, and university students.
After the basic introduction on blockchain and DAO, the participants then were sorted into groups and engaged in a DAO Canvas ideation activity. Each group was asked to create their own DAO and by the end of the given time, they presented their project.
Each presented project will be shared to the DAO community and one will be selected as the best project. The group with the best project will receive a prize in the form of cryptocurrency from the organizer. According to Jason, their next workshop will be in Thailand next month.
