There are rumours that the most popular social media Twitter may soon launch a Bitcoin (BTC) tipping service, to enable its millions of users instantly send or receive micropayments in BTC.
Crypto tipping system can be quite useful and popular because of its ability to instantly send crypto tips to other social media users incentivizes quality posting and increases social media activity as well as fostering a more friendly atmosphere.
Technically, if someone wants to send BTC to others, they would simply need that person’s Bitcoin (BTC) address. It is indeed more efficient and slightly easier when crypto tipping is directly integrated into a social media platform since crypto tips can be sent directly to a user even if they do not have a Bitcoin (BTC) wallet. Further, since these tips occur off-chain, there are no transaction fees.
Also, integrating crypto tipping into a social media platform increases crypto adoption, since someone who has never used crypto before may receive a tip, at which point they download a wallet for the first time in order to receive the tip.
While it is not clear yet, the CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, a well-known Bitcoin (BTC) advocate, has shown some credence to these rumours.
Notably, XRP Tip Bot is also a tipping system that uses XRP cryptocurrency as a reward, that enables users on Reddit, Twitter and Discord to send Ripple XRP to each other through Reddit comments or tweets.
