Major blockchain developer, ConsenSys has laid off 14% of its workforce as a measure of restructuring to separate its software development business from its venture activities. It is remarkable that the New York-based blockchain developer is one of the largest specialists in the field.
ConsenSys said that the cut would allow it to be better aligned with the needs of a focused software development company. Although the number of job loss is not mentioned by ConsenSys, it is said that the departments affected were human resources, finance and marketing, whereas, the product team is unaffected.
It is also notable that previously ConsenSys had cut down 13% of its workforce, which was more than 1000 headcount, back in December 2018.
