Donald John Trump, the 45th president of the United States has always been a person who makes clear critiques especially when it comes to cryptocurrency. His tweet in July last year certainly shows that he is against the idea of digital currency.
Nevertheless, cybercriminals still impersonated Trump and circulated a fake tweet saying he is giving away free Bitcoin and Ethereum. The scam tweet has a link that directs the victims to a malicious website where they will need to send crypto for a bigger return.
The Russia-based scam is considered a failed attempt because fortunately no funds were sent to the Bitcoin/Ethereum addresses stated on the website. It is also notable that there was a similar case a few days ago impersonating Elon Musk, the co-founder and CEO at Tesla.
