Google Cloud announced it will serve as a member of Hedera Governing Council, alongside other notorious companies including IBM and Boeing. As part of the council membership, the platform will also provide access to its ledger data on its public cloud datasets, which include block information from blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Hedera is a distributed ledger technology project rooted in the enterprise world. It uses a hashgraph-based consensus algorithm to allow for multiple branches of blocks, as opposed to a single chain. The project reportedly provides a performance of ten thousand transactions per second.
Hedera’s SVP of Products, Atul Mahamuni said in a statement that the Google Cloud Platform was the perfect foundation to help them achieve their goals to bring enterprise-ready DLT adoption at scale.
