Ukraine’s justice system employee has recently caught illegally mining crypto at work. Reportedly, the employee worked at data systems division of the court administration department when caught.
The prosecutor office reported that full investigation on the IT staff was completed, and the unnamed individual is said to have taken advantage of the equipment and internet bandwidth allocated for Ukraine’s court documents database and the Judiciary web portal from January to May 2018.
The employee has been charged with illegal mining of cryptocurrency at work, and if found guilty, he will be facing up to six years in prison and a ban on working in government agencies. Reportedly, the prosecutor office confirmed that he had used workplace servers to host external websites, including three online stores and a website for motorcycle fans.
