The Art of Being Happily Single

We have already unlocked a new year and a new decade this 2020. Most of us might be thinking of things we have all gone through all these years. One thing for sure is everybody is getting older, and perhaps the idea of getting married and build a family has already started swarming in our minds.

First and foremost, let us congratulate those who already have a happy family of their own. Also, to those who have moved on to another phase of life, like the toxic relationships that you left behind, believe me when I say you have done the best you can.

For those who are single, on the other hand, I say not to worry. Just because you are single, does not mean you can’t achieve happiness and everything else you need in life.

Here’s why.

Time to Build Yourself

Being single and on your own gives you more time to develop yourself. Be it physically or mentally by doing the things you want. So, you should spend your time single-handedly engaging in activities that are physically and mentally beneficial for yourself.

Find something that makes you feel alive, finish the books you have, or perhaps start to learn a new language that is good for yourself. Remember, the right people will come when you are the best version of yourself.

Expand your Network

Spend more time getting to know new people. Precisely because networking makes you more visible, it also opens new doors. From getting approached by recruiters about job opportunities, to getting noticed by people who might actually want to get to know you personally.

Besides, having a broad network will come handy at times you need help on something. Additionally, having a lot of friends will help to ensure that you won’t feel lonely all the time.

Strengthen Existing Relationships

One of the other things you can do during your single life is to strengthen and improve relationships with the people around you.

Try to spend time with your parents, siblings, and other relatives. This is because as we grow older our relationships may become tense because of the rush of work. You can also take this time to catch up with old friends.

Save Money

Did you know that those in a relationship spend more than they do when they are single? So those who are single will be able to reduce their expenses and save more money.

The money can also be invested or capitalized to generate more revenue. In addition, you can also spend that money on more important things like paying off debt, buying assets and spending on those who need it most.

Learn to Be Yourself

The most important thing is to be yourself.  Your alone time is an important time to understand yourself and increase your self-confidence. Don’t be afraid to be judged by others who don’t know you. It is more dangerous if we do not understand ourselves until there is no stand.

You learn to love yourself when you truly accept your strength and weaknesses. Eventually, the right people will come and not only see you as who you really are, but love you, nevertheless.

Our Two “Sats”

If you are single, don’t fret yourself by being too hard because sooner or later, your time will come. All you have to do is take advantage of the time and resources available at the moment. Seize the moments, live in the now. One important thing to remember is to love yourself enough, for others to love you just the same.
