The 2020 AGM of ACCESS Blockchain Association of Malaysia

The Second Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ACCESS Blockchain Association of Malaysia took place on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at Luxtag, Cyberjaya. A half-day meeting with discussions, activity updates, future plans, fiduciary report, elections and re-elections of the board members has turned into a fruitful event and made a productive weekend.

ACCESS Blockchain Association (MY) is a home to enterprises, consumers and technologists exploring and advocating blockchain and cryptocurrency in Malaysia. Founded in 2017, the association started as a volunteer to spread the awareness of the blockchain development and implementation, including cryptocurrencies, financial and non-financial technology.

The meeting was called to order at 2.30 PM with an automatic resignation of all current board members. ACCESS Former President, Rene Bernard highlighted the previous AGM report and the association’s development within 2019. Next agenda was a presentation of the financial report, including membership, delivered by the former Treasurer, Affendi Ariffin.

The AGM continued with the elections and re-elections of board members. The Nomination Committee proposed that the number of board members to be expanded and that the following Board is elected:

Mr Azam Razman as President and Mr Aaron Ting as Vice President of ACCESS Blockchain Association Malaysia, Mr Jason Chew as Secretary and Mr Nasir as Vice Secretary, Mr Colbert Low as Advisor, while Mr Affendi Ariffin is re-elected as Treasurer for the second year of his term and Mr Jon Tay as Vice-Treasurer.

Also elected were Rene Bernard, Harpreet Singh, and Ibrahim Majid as Committee Members, while Jason Schadt and Ms Loh Lee Moi are ready to serve to the Board.

The new board members, together with ACCESS committee then outlined the association’s directions and strategic plans within the year. One of it is to participate in Malaysia Fintech Week 2020. The committee members also hope that ACCESS Malaysia remains to empower the nation through blockchain technology.
