YouTube and Google’s ban on crypto and trading content is seen continuous, and a Pro Blockchain Media channel is reportedly the latest to be struck. The channel creators argue that their contents are purely educational and there is no harmful or negative content broadcasted from their official YouTube channel.
Even as the purge remains, crypto and blockchain commentators argue that YouTube’s action is rushed and uninformed. The most popular video-sharing platform did not give any specific reason explaining their decision. Instead, they flag content deemed as “Harmful and Dangerous”.
Specifically, YouTube algorithms appear to be targeting sensationalist content and aim to curb problematic content, resort to penalizing creators. Apparently, YouTube admitted that it was a mistake, but it is still unclear whether it is just a technical problem, or the platform is taking strict action against the channels which were promoting cryptocurrency.
