Have you talked to someone about Bitcoin (BTC), then it is not the first time they heard about it? As you talked about it, they asked, “Which Bitcoin do you own?”
For some, they probably have heard of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) or Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV). Apart from BCH and BSV, few other coins use the name Bitcoin.
The coins are legit because of a hard fork, change of protocol, or promote different improvements over the original Bitcoin blockchain. However, there are reports about unsuspecting victims who fell for scams under the guise of Bitcoin.
Let’s take a look at the existing Bitcoin out there!
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
BCH is the result of a new hard fork from the original Bitcoin blockchain. BCH offered improvements such as transaction speed and capacity from the original Bitcoin blockchain.
Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV)
In the case of BSV, it is a hard fork from the BCH blockchain to promote the original function of BTC.
Bitcoin Gold (BTG)
BTG is a cryptocurrency that promotes the use of graphics processing unit (GPU) to mine the coin. Currently, BTC uses Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) because common GPUs lack the computing requirements it needs.
Bitcoin Diamond (BCD)
BCD is a hard forked from the original Bitcoin blockchain. It offers more improvements like faster transaction speed and anonymous transaction privacy for users.
Bitcoin HD (BHD)
BHD uses a new mechanism called Conditioned Proof of Capacity (CPoC). The hard disks in a computer will have the capacity to mine the coin compared to other cryptocurrencies that require higher computing power and energy.
Therefore, before you start to invest in any cryptocurrency or other digital assets. Please make sure to do your own research (DYOR) to avoid any mistakes and losses.
