Luno and Monstax Guild Crown Malaysia’s First Axie Infinity Tournament Champion

Luno, the leading regulated digital asset exchange in Malaysia and Monstax Guild, a blockchain gaming community platform announced Wiliam Wong as the winner of the inaugural Luno Battlexie: Winter Cup 2021. Taking home the grand prize of RM13,000 in Bitcoin, William beat seven other finalists to win the blockchain gaming tournament featuring the popular non-fungible token (NFT) game, Axie Infinity.

Luno Battlexie: Winter Cup 2021 featured close to 300 Axie players from all over Malaysia battling it out in an intense preliminary round of matches, which took place on 18 and 19 December 2021. The top eight players advanced to the grand finals on 26 December 2021 where William Wong battled valiantly to emerge as the deserved champion. The first and second runner-ups were awarded to Loh Vern Sern and Low Kah Seng where each won RM6,000 and RM3,000 in Bitcoin respectively. The grand finals were streamed live on the Esports Players League (ESPL) tournament platform.

William Wong, the grand prize winner shared, “I am honoured to be crowned the first winner of the biggest Axie Infinity tournament in Malaysia. Luno Battlexie: Winter Cup 2021 is a great platform that allows Axie Infinity players to showcase our skills and progress as professional esports players.
